Recon Water is a sterile, non-pyrogenic aqueous solution containing 0.9% (9 mg/ml) benzyl alcohol. The benzyl alcohol acts as a preservative, inhibiting microbial growth so that a prepared vial can be accessed multiple times across its working life — unlike a single-use sterile diluent.
It is the most common diluent used to prepare lyophilized research compounds for in vitro and laboratory work. Draw the desired volume with a sterile syringe, inject slowly down the inner wall of the peptide vial, and swirl gently — never shake — until fully dissolved.
