ARA-290 (Cibinetide)

Erythropoietin Helix-B peptide
Erythropoietin-Derived Helix-B Peptide · CAS: 1208243-50-8 · SKU: CL-058

An EPO-derived helix-B surface peptide reference standard (11-mer). Selectively engages the innate-repair receptor complex (βcR) without activating the homodimeric erythropoietic EpoR pathway, providing a useful tool for receptor-subtype discrimination assays, βcR binding studies, and downstream signaling characterization in vitro. 99%+ purity by HPLC & MS.

Research Overview

ARA-290 (Cibinetide) is an 11-amino acid peptide based on the helix-B surface of erythropoietin (EPO). It selectively engages the innate-repair receptor complex (βcR — the EPO receptor paired with the common β subunit) without triggering classical erythropoietic signaling through the homodimeric EpoR complex, making it a useful tool for receptor-subtype discrimination experiments in vitro.

This receptor selectivity is pharmacologically useful because it allows researchers to probe βcR-specific downstream signaling (JAK2, STAT3, PI3K pathways) independently of erythropoietic EpoR signaling, with no confounding hematopoietic readout. In vitro receptor-binding and functional assay studies have characterized ARA-290's affinity and signaling profile at the βcR complex.

Preclinical cell and animal model studies have employed ARA-290 as a βcR-pathway pharmacological probe in cytokine profiling experiments and corneal nerve fiber density measurement models. These represent laboratory assay systems and structural characterization contexts; all findings are preclinical.

All referenced studies are preclinical or in vitro. Not for human use.
